What peer coaching taught our leaders

Since May, I've been part of the 2nd Season of "A Moment for Us"

This 9-month program blends professional and personal growth through focused training and peer coaching on essential topics like resilience, strategic networking, and leveraging our unique strengths.

I’ve attended numerous development programs throughout my career, but this one stands out. What makes it exceptional isn’t just the quality content but the genuine connections formed through peer coaching.

There's something remarkably powerful about the honesty in our exchanges. When participants share their experiences without filters, it creates learning moments that no handbook could provide. We tackle challenges particularly relevant to women's professional journeys - both long-standing obstacles and present-day realities we all face.

Since joining ‘A Moment for Us’, this program has helped me take a step back from the daily rush. It has been a moment to slow down, talk openly with peers, and look at things from a different angle. The conversations were honest; about work, confidence, leadership, and everything in between. They make you stop and think about how you handle things yourself.

What I like most is that it is not about theory or frameworks. It is about sharing real experiences;  what goes well, what does not, and what you learn along the way. Some sessions stay with you longer than you expect. They make you question certain habits and help you become more intentional in how you lead and how you show up for others.

It has also been great to connect with colleagues from other countries and teams. Even if our jobs are completely different, you realize we all face similar doubts and challenges. There is something reassuring about that as it gives perspective and a bit of extra confidence.

Before joining, I was sceptical about what this program would deliver beyond the usual corporate training promises. Now, several sessions in, what's struck me most is how much I'm learning from my peers' unfiltered experiences. There's something powerful about hearing colleagues from different countries and departments open up about their real challenges. The most eye-opening realization? Despite our different business cards and time zones, we're wrestling with remarkably similar professional hurdles. This shared vulnerability has created connections and insights I wasn't expecting but now value tremendously.

My main takeaway is how valuable it is that Allianz Trade invests in initiatives like this;  giving women the chance to challenge themselves, share experiences, and grow together as leaders. It reminded me that learning does not always happen in training rooms; it often happens in conversations. When people speak honestly about what they are going through, that is when you really connect and learn something that stays with you.

Overall, it has made me reflect more consciously on how I lead and what kind of impact I want to have.
